Privacy policy

Last updated: 9 October 2026

This policy describes how bob, a service that helps people observe their dog's behavior, published by Marione Conseil, processes your personal data when you use the bob app or the augustine.pet website.

Data controller

The data controller is Marione Conseil, a French limited liability company (SARL) with a share capital of €10,000, registered under SIREN 452 565 286 (head office SIRET 452 565 286 00021), with its registered office at 5 place de Wagram, 75017 Paris, France. The service is operated under the trade name bob.

Your contact

For any question about how your data is processed, or to exercise your rights, write to rgpd@augustine.net. We have not appointed a data protection officer, as this is not mandatory for our activity.

What we collect, and why

Using the app: your photo goes through bob's server (hosted by OVH) to be analyzed. It is kept there temporarily, for the time of the processing (a few minutes at most), then deleted. The server only keeps the measurements of your dog's face, a digital fingerprint of the photo (a short string of characters that cannot be turned back into the photo) and, if you wrote a context note, the list of situations it recognized (for example "owner present"). Never the photo itself, nor the text you wrote. Your dog's profile and your results stay on your device until you leave your email. If you tick the box to be notified, your email and/or Instagram account (and, at that point, your profile, photo, result and the context note you wrote about the moment of the photo, with its date) are sent to our processors.
Purpose: to provide the emotional reading you asked for and to let you know when it is ready.
Legal basis: your consent (unticked checkbox), Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

augustine.pet waiting list: we collect your email and the date you left it.
Purpose: to let you know when the service opens.
Legal basis: your consent.
Optional: leaving your email is optional; without it, we cannot notify you.

Separately from what you give us by name, we anonymously count the main steps of your visit to the app (photo sent, contact left or not), without any name, email or photo, using a throwaway identifier specific to your visit. As this is not personal data, this measurement does not require consent.

Retention periods

Your photo is kept on bob's server for the time of its analysis, a few minutes at most, then deleted.

Your profile, contacts and results are kept for 24 months without any new interaction from you, then deleted automatically. You can ask for earlier deletion at any time (see "Your rights").

Recipients of your data

Your data is accessible to Marione Conseil and to the following processors, acting only on our instructions: Google (Drive and Sheets, for storage), Brevo (for sending emails) and OVH (for hosting the website). We never sell or rent your data to anyone.

Transfers outside the European Union

Brevo is a French company and processes your data within the European Union. Google may process some data in the United States; these transfers are covered by the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission on 4 June 2021.

Cookies and trackers

The app stores your profile and results in your browser's local storage (localStorage), which is strictly necessary for the service you asked for. This storage does not require your consent.

Visitor statistics (Google Analytics). Only with your consent, the app uses Google Analytics to measure traffic in aggregate; this tool then places an identifier in your browser. Until you answer, or if you answer “No”, Google Analytics is not loaded. Your choice is kept for 6 months, and you can change it at any time with the “Cookies” link at the bottom of the app; saying no deletes any Google Analytics identifiers already placed.

No advertising tracker is used.

Your rights

Under Articles 15 to 22 GDPR, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure (right to be forgotten), restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent, as well as the right to set instructions for what happens to your data after your death. You can exercise these rights by writing to rgpd@augustine.net. We reply within one month, extendable by two months if your request is complex.

From the app, without writing to us: the "My data" link, at the bottom of the page and in every result email, lets you stop emails or delete at once your email, your dog's profile, your photos and your results.

Personal access link: once your email is validated, we send you a link containing a personal key. It lets you find your results from any device or browser. It stays valid as long as your data exists and stops working as soon as you delete it. It is only sent to the validated address: do not forward it, anyone who has it can see your results.

Complaints

You can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority: 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, cnil.fr. If you live in another EU country, you can also contact your own national data protection authority.

Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss, alteration or unauthorized access.

Minors

bob is not intended for people under fifteen, the age of digital consent in France. If a minor has given us their data without parental consent, write to rgpd@augustine.net to have it deleted.

Changes

We may update this policy. The applicable version is the one published on this page, with its last update date at the top.
